- Studied Mechanical Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich (diploma 1973) and Business Administration at the university St. Gallen (HSG). Licentiate with diploma thesis on "Cost Accounting".
- Active at Cerberus Safety Engineering, US, from 1977 until 1981.
- Chief Executive Assistant at Eternit Berlin from 1981 until 1986, responsible for strategical planning, finance and controlling.
- Since 1986 at Eternit (Switzerland) AG, Niederurnen. Started as Head of Finance and Controlling. CEO since October 1st, 1990. Nominated as Deputy of Supervisory Board in 1997.
- CEO of the Eternit-Werke Ludwig Hatschek AG since July 1st, 2009.
