Description:
This project represents a trial in the pursuit of new methods in social housing. A townhouse rental development for young families has been conceived in a wonderful location, offering an alternative to the classic house purchase with large loans. A ground plan free of columns offers the potential for partitioning the floor space in a number of contemporary ways. The point foundations represent an insignificant burden on the site; houses are evenly insulated, ventilated and accessible all round. The creative intermixture of different wood construction methods (sold wood, half-timber) and exploitation of the respective advantages has a beneficial effect on costs. The static concept and basic structure are simple: two load-bearing walls support a ceiling mounted in between. This results in a small number of simple connection details, which can be designed optimally, particularly in respect of energy optimization. The shell is of half-timbered construction, with a hung façade made from Eternit wall shingles. House dividing walls are solid wood (KLH) and separate from house to house. The roof space is generously ventilated to prevent overheating and facilitate later installation work. Houses are designed to be low-energy houses and constructed as such (heating energy requirement 39kwh/m2). Eternit wall shingles are true energy-saving champions; weatherproof, durable, and maintenance-free. Along with these financial benefits, they offer a large degree of flexibility in design. "So go ahead and be colorful," because Eternit wall shingles can be used anywhere!
